As part of our ongoing commitment to sustaining the International Certification of Digital Literacy (ICDL) programme in Nigeria, E-Tech Complete Solutions Limited held a strategic meeting with the Committee of Vice-Chancellors (CVC) on the adoption of ICDL in public universities nationwide. This engagement is one in a series of high-level meetings with key stakeholders in Nigeria’s tertiary education sector aimed at deepening digital literacy integration and ensuring the long-term success of the ICDL initiative.

The meeting, which took place at the CVC Secretariat, was attended by the Chairman of E-Tech Complete Solutions Limited, who personally delivered the presentation on the strategic benefits and implementation roadmap for ICDL in Nigerian public universities. In his address, he emphasized the global recognition of ICDL, its alignment with the Nigerian National Policy on ICT in Education, and its capacity to equip students with industry-relevant digital skills.

The presentation outlined the proposed adoption of the ICDL ‘Computer and Online Essentials’ module as a supplement to the existing GST 102 course for 100-level students, alongside a framework for integrating additional ICDL modules into general studies and departmental courses. The Chairman also highlighted successful case studies from pioneering Nigerian institutions—such as Babcock University and Skyline University—as well as other government agencies, including FRSC, TETFund, and EFCC, that have implemented ICDL with measurable results.

The Committee members engaged actively, acknowledging the value of ICDL in raising the digital competency of graduates and aligning Nigerian higher education with international standards. The meeting concluded with a shared understanding of the need for a phased, structured adoption of ICDL across all public universities, with E-Tech providing the necessary technical, strategic, and quality assurance support to ensure a seamless rollout.

This meeting reaffirms E-Tech’s dedication to building towards achieving a digitally skilled graduate population.
