E-Tech Complete Solutions Attends Tech Symposium Africa Summit 2026

E-Tech Complete Solutions Limited, attended the second edition of Tech Symposium Africa, held in Maitama, Abuja on Thursday, April 30th, at the Nigeria Merit Award House in Maitama. The conference, themed AI Governance in Africa, brought together industry leaders, innovators, policymakers, investors and stakeholders across Nigeria’s tech ecosystem to examine the future of artificial intelligence on the continent.

Discussions focused on bridging policy gaps in AI governance. While Africa has the talent, frameworks and strategic direction, a key question emerged around trust on whether the continent can govern AI systems in ways that align with its values.
Panellists also questioned if African nations are building original AI solutions or relying heavily on external models and control systems.

Speakers emphasized the importance of building trusted AI systems through proper testing environments, regulatory clarity and strong infrastructure. There were clear calls for capacity development, including equipping universities to train more AI ready talent and encouraging collaboration between regulators, investors and the private sector.

The convener, Tech Symposium Africa, noted that most AI governance frameworks across Africa currently serve as guiding strategies rather than enforceable regulations. Country-specific approaches were highlighted: Rwanda’s focus on security, Ghana’s emphasis on economic applications while Nigeria use of AI is driven by Innovation. However, the absence of a unified and comprehensive governance structure in Nigeria remains a concern.

During an interactive session, contributors embraced the partnership between E-Tech Complete Solutions Ltd and the International Certification of Digital Literacy (ICDL), stressing that digital literacy must be embedded at the core use and governance of AI in Africa. They reinforced that foundational tech knowledge is critical to ensuring responsible and effective AI adoption.

The event also featured remarks from James Carroll of the British High Commission, who highlighted the need to strengthen governance frameworks for sustainable AI development and technology. Overall, the symposium provided a valuable platform for dialogue, collaboration and strategic engagement shaping Africa’s AI future.
