E-tech Complete Solutions, the local office provider of International Certifications of Digital Literacy (ICDL) rolled out a nationwide digital campaign titled Train the trainers (TTT) workshop in line with its core objective of advancing digital literacy across academic institutions in Nigeria.

The program, sponsored by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND), expected to last between September 14th – 30th 2026 has recorded giant strides across (with over 1500 participants expected) institutions within the 6 Geo-Political zones of Nigeria.

The Chairman of E-tech Complete Solutions Ltd., Abdulhakeem Mustapha (SAN), explained that increasing investment in digital skills and tech-driven education is important for Nigerians to compete globally while explaining that the initiative aims to promote widespread digital literacy and build institutional capacity by creating a highly skilled pool of certified trainers during his address at the workshop.

He added that technology is fast transforming every aspect of life, making digital competence increasingly indispensable for both individuals and organizations. In making this a success in the evolving economy, Mustapha urged participants to embrace digital literacy and overcome their resistance to change. He highlighted that continuous capacity building is essential to unlock modern opportunities, bridge the technical gap and empower everyone to face future global challenges.

Themed ‘ Building a Digitally Skilled Academic Community‘, the train the trainer workshop has received massive commendations from stakeholders including the Vice-Chancellor of National Open University (NOUN), Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) and the executive secretary of TETFund.

In his resounding remarks during the capacity building program at the Mallam Adamu Adamu Office and Lecture Complex of the federal university Lafia, the Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Prof. Mohammed Isa Kida, represented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Partnership, Prof. Ibrahim Ogiri Hassan, called on participants at the Workshop to embrace technology to maximize their capabilities and lead in the global digital economy.

He orchestrated that students and institutions must collaborate using technology for boosting research, creating new ideas and improving the academic community.

In a separate remark, Prof. Uduma Oji Uduma, the Vice-Chancellor National Open University (NOUN), ably represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Technology, Innovation and Research (TIR), Prof. Christian Ofulue, commended the initiative, describing digital literacy as a critical tool for learning, career success, running a business and navigating daily life.

He opined that the partnership become imperative in cultivating a certified talent pool to drive digital proficiency among campus faculty and student bodies.

Sonny Echono, the Executive Secretary TETFUND, pinpointed at the TTT workshop held at the National Open University of Nigeria, Abuja that Nigeria must prioritize digital capacity development over physical infrastructure to properly prepare its youthful population for the rapidly changing global economy, advising beneficiaries and institutions to take full ownership of the T-T-T by permanently integrating digital training, certifications and measurable outcomes into their daily operations to maximize practical institutional impact.

The Train the Trainer initiative reemphasized that digital literacy remains the foundation of an evolving tech community.
